UPDATES & PRAYER REQUESTS

  • Please pray for Iron Mill Church and Jason Sullivan. Jason announced to his congregation last Sunday that he will be returning to Canada to begin a chaplaincy program at a hospital in Ontario. His last Sunday will be January 19. Be praying for Jason and Iron Mill Church in this transition.

  • With both sadness and hope, we announce that Valley Alliance Church in West Pittston has completed its season of ministry. Following strategic discussions that Nate Howard held with Pastor Shane Nichols and church leadership about Kingdom effectiveness and resource stewardship, the church—with our blessing—made the decision to close and establish a new independent ministry. Starting as the Gospel Tabernacle in May 1894, this church has served the Wyoming Valley for many generations with a focus on missions. Over the years, 47 people from this congregation have gone into missions and ministry around the world. Though this chapter of Alliance ministry is ending, God has indeed used this church greatly. We encourage continued connection with Pastor Shane Nichols and Pastor Timothy Williams as they lead their congregation into this new season.

  • Please pray for Perry Community Church as the elders have prayerfully decided to enter the process of replanting their church in 2025. Andrew Rudisill’s time as lead pastor will end this year. Pray for Andrew and his family, as well as the church as they take this big step of faith.

  • Praise God that Citylight NYC is two months old with 15-20 people gathering regularly and are growing close. They are having weekly opportunities to share Christ with people who don’t know Him. Pray for them as their vision for 2025 is to see the church grow to 40 committed people.

York Alliance Church has paper copies of dozens of children's musicals they are giving away for free. Here’s a complete list. Contact Belinda Jackson if interested or have questions.

INTERNATIONAL WORKERS

Do you know about Alliance World Fellowship? Find monthly prayer requests from Alliance churches across the globe.

  • With the fall and self-exile of President Bashar Assad, our Syrian Alliance family face a time of hope and uncertainty. Almost all of the 24 congregations fall within what was government controlled territory and tolerance toward religious diversity is yet to be discovered. The president of the national church has asked us to join in praying.

    • A local Syrian pastor writes, “We are deeply grateful to the Lord. The events that have unfolded, and the remarkably peaceful way they have occurred, are nothing short of a divine miracle. Our prayer is that the One who began this good work will bring it to fulfillment. May the coming days continue in the same spirit of peace, paving the way for a future of freedom and hope for the oppressed and the poor, for the welfare of the Church and God’s people, and above all, for the glory of the Lord.

    • Ask God to strengthen its leaders and members, equipping them to meet the needs of the suffering, and proclaim the message of peace and reconciliation with boldness. May the church’s actions and testimony foster unity, rebuild trust, and lead many to embrace the eternal hope found in Jesus Christ.

  • Pray for our Alliance family in Burkina Faso. This year nine Alliance pastors have been killed. Pray for 1) comfort for the bereaved families and churches, 2) that supplies would reach displaced believers before Christmas, 3) that terrorists would have Damascus-road encounters with Christ, and 4) that senseless attacks would cease and that peace would return to the Sahel Region.

    • The president of the national Alliance church in Burkina has asked us to pray for them that “we would love our enemies.”

  • Praise God Jacob and Sarah (West Africa) have the keys to their new home and are starting to move in!

  • Pray for K&A (Southeast Asia) as they lead Christmas events and outreaches. Pray that each person reflecting on the Christmas story will be drawn to Jesus. Pray that these unreached people will know and understand who God is.

    • PRAISE! Because of A’s leather training, a man out of prison was able to get housing provided by some other Believers in the city. He has since chosen to follow Jesus and shared with A about how God has been changing him! Please pray that he would continue to grow in his faith and that he would know God's voice and obey.

  • Praise God for the opportunity for Thai pastors and leaders to participate in Soul Care training and Soul Care Conferences in November. Pray that this ministry will enable Thai believers to grow stronger in their walks with Jesus and experience real freedom in Christ.  Pray that the ministry of Soul Care will spread to churches across Thailand. Praise God that Ed and Sue were able to welcome the Herald Brass short-term ministry team and over 600 people heard the Good News of Jesus. Please pray that they will see fruit for the Kingdom as they follow up with these people and lead other Christmas outreaches.

  • Pray for R&E (West Africa) as they return to this US this month to serve their final home ministry assignment and finish serving as international workers in June. Pray for them as they pack and say goodbye and at the same time iron out details in the US. Pray for more opportunities in these last weeks for R&E to lovingly point their friends to Jesus and for their friends to have the courage to follow the Jesus path. Pray for God’s provision, comfort, and peace after a large electrical fire destroyed a building on one of their properties.

  • Pray for Envision Acres Farm as they pray over decisions and plans to provide food for the refugee community of Clarkston, Georgia. Pray for their short-term employee who doesn’t know Christ. Pray that the job will be a point in his story to salvation.

  • Thank you for praying for J&H’s English Weekend in Eastern Europe. There were about 20 students. Despite their surprise that there was no heat, spirits were high. The Lord provided opportunities to share testimonies and the Gospel.  Pray for their team as they follow up with students.

  • Pray for Chris Metelsky (Thailand) as he continues in language learning. Pray against discouragement and loneliness.

  • Pray for David and Carol Crick as they work to raise support to head to Black Forest Academy in Germany to support students whose families serve in some of the hardest countries around the world. Many of the students at Black Forest Academy are children of Alliance workers. Give here. Or email David Crick.
